Becoming a licensed real estate agent in Minnesota is a straightforward process when you have the right guidance. From completing your coursework to passing the state exam and activating your license, each step builds the foundation for your future business. Minnesota requires 90 hours of approved pre licensing education before applying for a real estate license. These courses are designed to teach the fundamentals of contracts, laws, ethics, and real estate practices.

Complete the Coursework


After completing the required coursework, you will take the Minnesota real estate licensing exam. The exam includes both national and state specific sections to ensure agents are prepared to represent clients professionally and confidently.

Pass the Exams

Submit for License


Once you have passed the exam, KW Edina will submit your license application to the Department of Commerce and officially activate your Minnesota real estate license.
